The world is years away from stamping out bird flu in poultry, and the threat of a human pandemic will remain until it does, the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) said.

The school district has become the first in the nation to start using a fat replacement substance called Z Trim in its cafeteria food, a move school officials hope will encourage kids to make more healthy eating choices. The cafeteria lunch line at Columbus Elementary School moves quickly as students grab portions of carrots celery, apples and oranges. French fries and hamburgers, once cafeteria staples, aren't even offered.
